8 , 2008 Man do I love Homegrown! Pt.2 Saturday is hands down the best day of Homegrown. For those who have to play that night it can be tricky because the party starts at noon at the kickball game but it can be done, as I've done it many times. The kickball game is a vivid reminder why we all play music instead of sports and drink beer instead of gatorade. The unathleticism is laughable, with any real athletic plays calling into question whether the person is actually a musician at all. I played on Friday night's team because of the 'Tacks and Bone and we outmanned Sat. night 2 to 1. Not that it mattered because the 20 outfielders we had couldn't catch a damn thing in left or center field. After a few Harvey Wallbangers, HotRod and I assisted a still-drunk-from-the-night-before Chad from Accelleratti in his pitching with slaps to the face in the final few innings, and by playing bunt blockers. I've heard rumblings of disgust over the slowness of the game due to the 3 of us and our hijinks but anyone who says the kickball game takes too long is clearly not having a good enough time. band, the SuperTacks, have finished our new album entitled "Never
Have So Many Been Rocked By So Few". It came out great and we're

here. Homegrown has come and gone again this year and that is sad, it was truly a great time. This year had it all and the festival just keeps getting better every year. Read more about it here. As I mentioned before, I'm set to begin work on my next album. I'm always excited to start a new recording project but these new songs have me busting at the seams. It is, however, a very big project in terms of how many songs I have so it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Things are very much in the early stages so I don't have much else to tell you right now about it. I'll be updating again soon when things get underway more and hopefully I'll have some new demos to post soon. Until then, - Ryan - |
