Ryan Van Slooten is an award winning singer-songwriter based out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, his songs are full of catchy hooks, chiming guitars, lush arrangements, and honest, heart-on-sleeve lyrics. He is equal parts rock n' roller and crooner, without losing that singer-songwriter charm. Find out more here...

Thanks so much for stopping by my tiny little corner of the internet. Feel free to look around, listen to some music, or drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks so much for the support, cheers!

"The Trouble With Flight" is out now!

I am so happy to announce that my brand new EP, "The Trouble With Flight", is officially released! Downloads are available right here

It has been a long road to get here, but I am so proud of the work. This EP marks the beginning of what I hope will be a new era for me and my music. Taking on the roles of both producer and performer is an exhausting task, but it is so very rewarding. The ability to have creative control, in my own time, is a tremendous advantage. I've learned so much since my last album, and I am so excited about what the future holds.

I hope you enjoy the new songs! Be on the lookout for the acoustic versions from this EP, which will be coming in the next few weeks.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT! It's because of people like YOU that independent artists, like myself, are able to continue following our dreams.

Hear the first single off the new EP!

Check out the first single from the upcoming EP now on my campaign page! It's titled "Say the Word", and is very special to me, as I wrote It with my daughters in mind. I recently, just this week, this song received high praise from a music supervisor who specialized in placing music in tv, movies, commercials, etc. I got some great feedback and am hopeful that I will be able to find placement for it in the future.

The campaign is rolling along, hitting 47% today! There's still a lot of ground to cover, but we're making progress. Thank you, everyone!

It's finally happening! My new EP, "The Trouble With Flight" is set for release on Friday July 21st! Your support will be integral in seeing this all the way through though, so please take a second to check out the campaign page.I've put together some great rewards packages for you and in being part of this venture, you are also helping a great cause. A portion of the proceeds of this campaign are going to the Chordoma Foundation, in honor of a dear friend who passed away from this horrible illness a few years ago. Again, please check out the campaign page for more details. I am so excited to be releasing new music, I can't wait for you to hear it!

Wow, what a crazy adventure getting this EP done has been. I will soon be unveiling all the details about it in the next week or two and couldn't be more excited about it. It has been way too long since my last release, but rest assured, there is plenty more to come. I have been diligently working for the past couple of years, honing my engineering skills, and am finally in a place where I can create more openly and freely. It will all make more sense in a week or two. Thanks so much for your continued support. Big things are a coming!

Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra's 'Bridge Sessions'

I was fortunate enough to be 1 of 4 finalists in the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra's 'Bridge Sessions'. For the competition, classically trained musicians were paired with more mainstream acts to create works that combined both styles. I was paired with violinist, and DSSO concert master, Erin Aldridge. One of the songs we performed was one of my new songs, called "Down With This Ship". We combined Vivaldi's "Spring:1st Movement" from the famous Four Seasons works. It was an incredible experience, one I am very thankful for, and proud to have been a part of. Check out the video to get an idea. Erin was absolutely fantastic!
